Thai Massage
One of them is Sombat, originally from Thailand, she has been living in France for over fifteen years and who practices the art of traditional Thai massage. Seduced by the Aveyron during a stay in the region, she settled permanently in Espalion to open her practice in July 2017. Trained in this art since her childhood, Sombat perfected her skills to obtain a master’s degree in massage at the School of Traditional Thai Medicine in Bangkok. Her training allows her to master different massage techniques, from the traditional Thai massage, to the deeply relaxing essential oil massage, to prenatal therapy massage.
The tradition of massage is at the confluence of Taoist Chinese massage, Indian Ayurvedic massage, Japanese shiatsu and Indo-Tibetan yoga. The rules and techniques of this age-old art are kept at the School of Traditional Thai Medicine, recognized worldwide for its excellence. The traditional Thai approach to health, considers the human body through the elements of earth, water, fire and wind, whose harmony evacuates any imbalance creating balance and well-being.
La Chaldette
Next, in the adjacent department of Lozère on the banks of the Bès river, in a building built by the architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte in 1995, the spa of La Chaldette is the ideal place for relaxation, open to the tranquillity of the surrounding landscape. The combination of the benefits of thermal water and modern hydrotherapy techniques provide serenity for both body and mind, supported by the benevolence of a doctor and the staff. La Colonie will recommend some good addresses, in the vicinity of Aubrac or in the very immediate surroundings. The most notorious of all is certainly Le Suquet, a restaurant founded by Michel Bras taken over by his son Sébastien.
