The loft, judiciously placed under the slopes of the roof, has smaller windows but which give a beautiful luminosity by the circulation of their numerous beams gathered in the room in one piece. An adjoining room, however, allows for privacy. And a double-leaf door will bring, wide open, the spirit of the loft itself right into the bedroom. With a floor area of ​​one hundred and fifty square meters, the loft is furnished in a cozy style of light or muted tones, which combines the ambiance of ecological materials and the very pleasant warmth of a wood stove with the retro style of the furniture. It is important to remember, without joking, that the retro style does not apply to bedding, the comfort of which is the primary concern of La Colonie.

The apartment on the second floor therefore offers, in a different layout, the same advantages as the loft, but with two bedrooms, windows that are certainly larger, but which, from the second floor, do not open onto the same horizon. The floor area, which is equivalent, is further divided into a large living-dining room, a kitchen, and a large and comfortable bathroom. The first impression when entering these large spaces is that you feel like a guest. We can already picture ourselves there, refreshed by the fresh air and regaining our strength with a hot drink in an armchair. The Aubrac plateau comes right up to these walls where the feeling of an infinite but calm, peaceful space resonates silently. The loft’s location, like the apartment’s, within the building gives them an atmosphere and acoustics independent of the life of La Colonie. It was still necessary to find someone with diverse experience in hospitality, etiquette, and business. The Colony, an enterprise of one man, became that of his wife, Lizette, and a Franco-Mexican, multilingual family. Thus was born this place for exchanges, in complete discretion, in Spanish, Italian, English, and French! Comfortable rooms and sometimes a generously stocked table d’hôtes featuring regional specialties or those from the immediate surroundings, such as Entraygue wine, very exceptionally aligot. The way guests are received has changed with regard to catering, which is geared towards market cuisine, but on the larger tables, you can still find charcuterie, local wines, some more elaborate ones, and always champagne…
